Intervarsity Series - Game 3 Recap

Mixed results for UTS with the women winning (3 - 0) while the mens go down 2 - 1 with the final game to come this Thursday. Another big 3rd quarter saw UTS extend out to a 14 point lead only to have USYD fight back and cut it down to single digits, with time against them it was a little to late. Strong performance from their bigs whom led from the front (Alysha Skerritt & Annie Henderson). Sherrie Calleia had another solid performance with 18 points, 10 rebounds & 7 assists. Maddy Norris was exceptional once again with a 28 points & 9 rebounds performance. Special mention must also go to Geena Valos who has been showing us all what she can do on the intervarsity stage (20 points, 11 rebounds). A tight contest saw the men lose down the stretch after regaining the lead from an exceptional USYD opponent. Ollie Bowman was lights out again with 21 points & a couple timely shots down the stretch. His running partner Robbie Moore had his best game of the series controlling the tempo of the game as well as having 13 points to his name. Some crucial errors saw the lead slip away and have UTS lose 78 - 72. With some solid performances from Alex Higgins - Titsha & Jock Jensen, the boys in teal will have to clean up their defense if they plan to stop this USYD outfit in game 4.
